Pool data

Pool Assistant stores the pool settings, chemistry readings, and test history you enter. The app keeps a local copy on your device and uses Apple's private CloudKit database to sync that data through your iCloud account. Private CloudKit data belongs to you and is not visible to us in Apple's developer portal.

Optional location and weather

You can use your current location or enter coordinates to request recent-rainfall estimates. If you save a weather location, Pool Assistant sends its latitude and longitude to Apple WeatherKit. When WeatherKit cannot provide a useful result, the app may send the same coordinates to Open-Meteo.

Open-Meteo states that its free API may keep server logs containing IP addresses and geographic coordinates for troubleshooting, and that those logs are deleted after 90 days. Read Open-Meteo's terms and privacy information for its current practices.

Advertising and tracking

Pool Assistant has no advertising SDK, does not sell personal data, and does not use data to track you across apps or websites.

Your choices and deletion

Location access is optional. You can deny the permission and enter no coordinates; manual rain estimates remain available. You can clear a saved weather location in Pool Settings and delete individual tests from History.

Deleting Pool Assistant removes its local data from that device. Synced data may remain in your private iCloud storage and return after reinstalling the app. You can remove the app's stored iCloud data using Apple's iCloud storage controls.

Changes

We will update this page when Pool Assistant's data practices change. The date at the top will show when the policy was revised.
